We now interrupt the 2010 NBA Finals with a word from Kobe. Wait, is this just a shameless plug for Vitamin Water? No, not at all. We hereby disclose that we are NOT affiliated with Vitamin Water, in any way. But they are featuring NBA players, how can we resist? Do you believe Kobe Bryant is the best player in the NBA? After all, if it wasn’t for Kobe and his sheer greatness, would the Lakers be in the position they are in today? Nevermind, the not-too-shabby roster, and perhaps the world’s most brilliant coach. The Lakers are 2 games away from securing their 5th championship in this decade led by the Kloser himself, Kobe. As suggested in the vid, is it case Klosed for the Celtics? Maybe it’s a little early to tell. In the meanwhile, to learn the definition of Klose, a la Kobe, read on.

And just for kicks, let’s resurrect Gatorade’s the Quest for G featuring Kevin Garnett. Will KG succeed in shushing his critics, prevent Klosure, and succeed in conquering the Holy Championship?

Yes, bat, that nocturnal mammal with wings, often portrayed in films as the alter-ego of vampires. Perhaps this bat decided to make his debut at the AT&T center because it happened to be Halloween night. Whatever the case, his interruption was short-lived, thanks to the quick-handed reaction of Manu Ginóbili…

who can now add bat exterminating onto his resume. In case you’re wondering, Spurs did snag a win that night, defeating the visiting Kings 113-94, so maybe the bat wasn’t so unlucky afterall. Just when you thought you had seen it all..

Since the dawn of mankind, pranks have gone hand in hand with general camaraderie and the strong bond established between those who have come to that comfort level of having the last laugh. Yes, because he who laughs last, laughs…last!

NBA players are no more immune to the quick-witted and downright silly pranks than we are. These pranks are sometimes a result of being the rookie on the team, just another newbie getting a lesson from their elders – or all in good fun from some of the more clever teammates willing to stir up a good laugh. Some unfortunately don’t get on camera, such as the infamous story of Tony Bobbitt’s rendezvous with Lucy Liu, so we can only imagine all the fun-filled pranks that go down. But here’s a look at some of the best NBA pranks caught on video.

I can see most of you nodding heads with LeBron James. As soon as Stern calls up the next players this Thursday, June 25, 2009, to get drafted in the NBA, maybe we’ll see a few of these hardworking and talented individuals make the All-NBA first team one day. This season we’ve witnessed a whole lot of amazing (Can’t get the song out of your head can you?) and we’re already anxious to see what’s in store for 2009-2010. Ready for some fresh faces in the NBA? They are probably just as eager as we are, for them to join the elite, the ranks of pro-status, shed their cocoons and become full-fledged bonafide NBA rookies. The draft is set for June 25, 2009 at 7PM (EST) and the lottery has already designated the Clippers, Grizzlies, and Thunder, 1st, 2nd, 3rd pick, respectively. Until then, get to know some of these top talented NBA draft prospects and peep them in the mix. If you don’t know, now you know.

Blake Griffin

Power Forward
He’s a shoe-in for first pick. Will Clippers go with anyone other than this wham-bam-thank-you banger on the inside?
Strengths: Points, boards, inside game

Ricky Rubio

Point Guard
Those Europeans know how to play. Ricky’s not an exception, he’s gifted in understanding the game, has no fear driving down the lane, and is just an overall good ball-handler.
